Grown near the coast in southern Sri Lanka, the Moragalla Estate gives this Oolong its distinctive personality. The slightly higher salt content in the soil is absorbed by the tea plants, lending a unique depth to its flavour. Carefully selected mature and younger leaves – always “two leaves and a bud” or “three leaves and a bud” – are gently broken, never damaged, to allow natural oxidation during fermentation. The result is a long, black, open leaf that brews into a bronze-coloured cup with subtle roasted notes, malty undertones, and a warm, spicy base.
Brewing suggestion: 4–5 heaped teaspoons per litre, 95–100 °C, 2–4 minutes.
