Genmaicha - Japan

Gentle, nutty, and unique – Japanese tea artistry with roasted rice.

"Genmai" means natural rice – the key ingredient that gives this Japanese specialty its distinctive character. Genmaicha is made from mild Bancha tea blended with about fifty percent roasted or puffed rice. The result is a harmonious combination of Bancha’s smoothness and a pleasantly light sweet, nutty, and caramel-like note. Its gentle profile makes it perfect for all-day enjoyment and an excellent choice for those new to green tea.

Brewing suggestion: 4–5 teaspoons per litre, 75–90 °C, 1–2 minutes.
